Yiwu Fair (Yiwu International Commodities Fair) is the small-goods week, expected around 21–24 October 2026. Housewares, gifts, toys and the rest of the mixed catalogue often start at a lower MOQ than a Canton OEM quote. The wholesale complex runs almost all year. The fair compresses meetings. Papillon checks the price, the supplier, and whether the cartons can share one shipment.
21–24 Oct
Confirm the days before the flight. The week is meetings, not the whole market.
All year
The standing catalogue. Closed around Chinese New Year. Most buying happens off the fair.
After
Who invoices, and whether the carton matches the sample, before any deposit.
The fair or the market, then a check on who sells, what the carton is, and how it ships.
The October week compresses meetings. The complex is there the other months. The request decides which.
A low MOQ often means a trader pooling orders. That can be right for a test. It is the wrong story for a line that must hold one lot.
Unit price without cube is not a cost. LCL is the usual path. A full container waits until the volume earns it.
If the sample is not already in hand, allow about 2–5 weeks. QC is in the consolidation warehouse or at the plant, before the box is sealed.
The expo week is a shortcut to meetings. The International Trade City is the catalogue, district by district, almost every day outside Chinese New Year. Many orders never touch the fair.
Papillon walks the districts when the fair is the wrong tool: a reorder, a missing SKU, a price check on goods you already know. The fair is for a first pass across many categories in four days.
The week sits on China trade fairs 2026, next to Canton phase 2. They are not the same walk.
A smaller minimum than a Canton OEM quote is why people fly here. It is also why the seller is often a trader. The carton in the series can drift from the carton on the table if nobody owns the lot.
We write that down before the deposit. Colour, material, retail pack, and who invoices. A flexible MOQ is allowed for a test. It is not allowed to pretend it is a factory programme.
A cheap piece dies when freight and duty eat the margin. We price landed cost per piece after the cube is measured on the packed carton, not on the sample in a hand.
LCL is the usual road. A full container makes sense when one series, or several orders that can travel together, fills it. Glass and textile do not share a box because a spreadsheet said the cube was free.
QC on a wide SKU list is cheaper than claims after arrival. It happens before dispatch.
The counter may promise a colour, a pack and a date. The useful promise is narrower: this carton, this invoice, this lead time. Everything else waits for the sample.
Sea freight is still about 35–52 days. The fair week does not shorten the ship. Origin papers and the HS code decide duty later. A low shelf price does not zero the duty.
Canton phase 2 is furniture and home at OEM scale. Yiwu is the small carton and the mixed order. If you need tooling, a mould, or a line that holds one model for years, this is the wrong hall.
If you need a first assortment and you can accept a trader, this is the right one. Canton Fair 2026 is the other door. Pick one for the trip.
Around 21–24 October. We confirm the days before the season. The wholesale complex runs almost the full year.
Often yes. The fair compresses first meetings. The market is the standing catalogue, and most reorders happen there.
It is often more flexible than heavy industry. Colour, mould and your own brand still change the number. We negotiate each SKU.
Only with a transfer and a separate list for each day. Otherwise the second fair is cards you will not read.
Send the request: category, quantity, and date. You get a reply within 24 hours, with an outline of the total cost to destination where we can price it.
