Shipping from China to Serbia is chosen before the goods deposit, not when cartons already sit with an agent. FCL, LCL and air are not the same risk or the same unit price. Sea to Serbia is about 35–52 days. Papillon books freight through partners and fits it to invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. We do not publish a rate card. Price is confirmed before booking.
Shipping from China to Serbia is organisation of freight and papers to the point you contracted, often to a warehouse in Serbia when that is in scope. It is not factory selection and not quality control. If the goods are bad, a faster vessel is only faster bad goods.
You remain the importer. The customs broker files the entry. Papillon, in the agreed scope, holds the link between factory, warehouse and forwarder so papers follow the cargo. Paper detail is on China Serbia import documents.
LCL is your cargo in a shared container. You pay your cubic metre (CBM), measured on the packed piece, not on a picture. It has more handlings. That is why fragile, heavy and goods that must not sit next to someone else’s cargo often leave LCL as soon as quantity grows.
FCL you pay as 20 or 40 feet, whether it is full or not. A half-empty container is air you paid to Serbia. Compare both scenarios before the purchase order. The volume tool helps for cubes, not the weight limit: CBM container calculator.
Air is for a sample, for a sales start when margin can take it, and for goods that cannot wait 35–52 days. It does not shorten a factory that has not finished. Rail exists on some routes as a middle timeline. It is not the default path. It enters the quote when route and cargo allow it, with a price before booking, not a number from last month.
A trial quantity often goes LCL, or air for the sample. As soon as volume nears 20 feet, FCL usually gives a lower unit price and less handling by someone else’s forklift. Heavy goods, gym machines and machinery hit kilos before cubes. Then LCL eats margin and raises breakage.
Several factories below a full container are not five separate shipments if you join them. That is cargo consolidation from China, with a rule for what may share a container. Furniture and chemicals are not good roommates. Textiles and electronics need a stacking plan.
Season, including holidays when plants stop, lifts freight and extends the date. That is why freight is not fixed in a service description. It is confirmed before booking and enters landed cost before you pay the goods balance.
EXW leaves organisation early, often at the factory gate. FOB moves the path to the port onto the seller. CIF changes who pays freight, it does not cancel your duty to know what is insured and where risk passes. The term sits in the purchase order before the deposit. An error on heavy equipment costs more than a piece-price gap.
Cargo insurance for a higher-value shipment is agreed separately. It is not included because CIF is written. Ask what it covers, from which point, and whether breakage from bad packing is even in. Bad packing is a dispute with the factory, not automatically with insurance.
Without a matching invoice, packing list and bill of lading (B/L for sea) freight stops at customs. For the Serbia China FTA from 1 July 2024 the certificate of origin (COO) goes in the same pack if you count on a lower rate. COO is requested before loading. At customs it is late.
The usual fall is not a costly vessel. It is the wrong mode for the goods you have. LCL on a heavy machine, air on seasonal textiles that could have gone by sea, or an FCL that is half empty because the programme is packed with models you do not sell. The decision is made on a packed sample, before the lot deposit.
The second fall is paper. The container arrives, the file does not. Demurrage at the port wipes the gap you saved on freight. That is why B/L, invoice and packing list sit in the same timeline as the booking, and the certificate of origin before loading if you count on the agreement from 1 July 2024.
The third fall is mixing sample and lot. A sample that waits for LCL delays a colour or function decision, so the lot starts on the wrong batch. The sample goes the faster path. The lot goes by sea when approval is written.
You give the warehouse address, what the goods are, outline volume and weight, whether they may go LCL and by which date they must arrive. Papillon, when freight is in scope, asks for a quote, books and holds papers with the cargo. We do not skip inspection before the seal because a vessel leaves on Friday.
Freight-only is possible when sourcing is already done and the goods are ready. You still need a packing list, measures and terms. Without that there is no serious freight quote.
Put in the brief the type of goods, quantity, whether there are several factories, the warehouse date and whether it is a sample or a lot. The answer is a mode proposal and a landed-cost outline, with freight confirmed before booking. It is not a price table that holds all year.
We do not publish a rate card. Freight moves by season, port and whether it is 20 or 40 feet. We confirm it before booking, together with local costs, duty and VAT in landed cost.
LCL is groupage: your cargo in a shared container, you pay your cubic metre. It is useful while you do not have a full container. It has more handlings, so fragile and heavy often move to FCL earlier.
About 35–52 days, depending on port, transhipment and when the goods enter the customs procedure. Air is measured in days. The exact date goes with the booking, not as a promise from this page.
No. Shipping moves cargo that has already passed inspection. On sourcing execution above 2,000 USD independent quality control is standard before the seal.
Yes when the goods are ready and papers are known. You still need measures, weight and delivery terms. Without that a freight quote is not serious.
When that is in the agreed scope, the goal is an address in Serbia after customs. It depends on Incoterms and whether the broker has a complete file.
Send the request: category, quantity, and date. You get a reply within 24 hours, with an outline of the total cost to destination where we can price it.
