Brand development is for firms that have or plan a product, but do not have a clear brand position, name, visual identity or rules that keep everything consistent. Papillon defines the position, creates a basic visual system and hands over a brand guide.
Firms launching a product under their own brand and needing a clear brand before packing, site and marketing.
It is also useful when you already have a product in sourcing, and the brand is not yet aligned: name, tone and visual system do not follow what the factory prints on packing.
First we collect a brief: category, audience, market and what already exists (name, logo, packing). Then we do a short competitor review and propose a brand position.
When the position is aligned, name (if needed), visual system and guide follow. One change round per proposal keeps the date predictable. Handover is in print-ready and screen-ready files.
Scope is clear so it is not mixed with packing, trademark or site build. Those are separate packages.
Handover is a document and file pack, not only a presentation.
A brand makes sense only when it is aligned with production: MOQ, packing materials, print and lead time. That is why brand development often goes with private label launch or OEM development, not as isolated design.
3–6 weeks, depending on scope.
Trademark registration and legal protection of name or logo. Product photography and content production. Custom packing make, which goes through private label launch. Site or online-store build. More than one change round per proposal. A marketing campaign and media.
Fees are on request. The quote depends on product family, number of SKUs, factories, customisation, timeline and operating scope.
You can order positioning only, visual identity only or the full package. Scope is defined in the quote.
Brand development is not a logo in a presentation. The guide locks name, colour, typography and tone before the factory opens a box mould. If the name changes after print, you pay a new minimum, not a file correction.
Standard holds one change round per proposal, analysis of up to five competitors and handover of print and screen files. A second round, trademark and photography are not in the package. Trademark is legal work. Here we check whether a name can even sit on a box, not whether it is registered.
The span is 3–6 weeks. That time goes before packing, not in parallel with sea. A lot that waits for a logo is later than a kiln. Product MOQ and box print minimum are still solved in private label launch, not in this guide.
A brand makes sense when you know category and market. It does not make sense as a substitute for a product sample. A sample still takes 2–5 weeks when sourcing starts. QC above 2,000 USD applies to lot execution, not a logo file. Landed cost still counts goods, box, freight, duty and VAT.
Put in the brief category, who you sell to, what already exists and whether the name may change. The answer is a position, a name proposal if it is in scope, and a visual system. If you already have a mark, narrower scope is a check, not a new identity from scratch.
Handover is a file and a usage rule, not a campaign. If the printer says the colour cannot go on that paper, you return to one round only if it was in scope. A new idea after handover is a new order.
We do not put the brand on a box in this package. Application to packing goes through private label launch, where sizes and print minimum live. An online store goes through ecommerce from China. Mixing those three in one date usually means none is closed.
Fees are on request and can be narrower: position only, mark only, or a full guide. Narrower scope is written before work, so it is not added by the way. Print’s third cost is not part of the fee.
No. Here we make the brand system. Application to packing goes through private label launch.
Yes, a narrower scope (visual identity only) is possible. We agree it in the quote.
We can do a brand check before a redesign, as a separate scope.
Yes, through linked sourcing and packing packages. Brand development itself hands over a system, application to the product goes in the next step.
