Supplier Selection: poređenje fabrika

Supplier selection, comparable offers before you buy

Supplier selection is for firms that have decided to import and need help choosing the right factory before they order goods. Papillon checks suppliers, sends RFQ, compares offers and gives a clear recommendation with a risk note.

Who it is for

Firms that know they want to import, but do not yet have a verified factory and comparable official offers.

What is included (standard scope)

One product family or subcategory, up to five clearly defined products or variants, with a scope check before start. RFQ to up to three factories. Comparable, more concrete offers. One round of extra questions. Desk check of suppliers for up to three factories: basic company data, business papers where available, export capacity, certificates, communication, production profile and identified risks. Risk note and final recommendation. A desk check is not an on-site factory visit.

What you get

  • A base of compared suppliers
  • A check summary for up to three factories
  • The spec sent to factories with the RFQ
  • A comparison table of offers
  • A risk rating and final recommendation

Typical timeline

10–15 working days, depending on how fast factories reply.

What is not included

A live factory check. More than one extra-question round. Commercial talks after factory selection. Sample coordination. Order and production management. Legal or financial due diligence. A guarantee the factory will accept all requested terms. Freight, duty and taxes.

Goods, samples, courier, QC, lab, freight, duty and taxes are shown separately from the Papillon fee.

When you need more than the base package

Extra products, extra factories, a new RFQ round, a technical spec, an on-site check, a compliance check or a compressed date go as add-ons in the quote.

Fee and quote

Fees are on request. The quote depends on product family, number of SKUs, factories, customisation, timeline and operating scope.

If sourcing discovery is already done for the same product family, already done work is credited in the quote.

What the comparison must contain

Supplier selection is for a firm that has decided to import and does not yet have comparable offers. One family, up to five models, RFQ to up to three factories, one question round, desk check of papers and communication. A plant visit is not in this package. If the deposit is large, a visit is agreed as an add-on, not as by the way.

Offers are comparable only if they ask the same thing: material, size, packing, MOQ, lead time, Incoterms. The lowest FOB without those lines is not the winner. The table you get states the difference, risk and recommendation. It is not a thread you have to read yourself.

Desk check looks at basic data, claimed capacity, certificates they send and whether they answer the same question the same way twice. It is not a legal check and not a guarantee the factory will accept every term. If they will not accept a term, that is written in the recommendation before you pay a sample.

The span is 10–15 working days, depending on how fast factories reply. That is not goods make time. A sample after this goes 2–5 weeks, make often 4–10, sea about 35–52 days. Selection ends with a recommendation, not a purchase order.

When to stop, and when to go to execution

Stop if three offers do not match your target price even when a freight and duty outline is added. Then sourcing execution only follows an expensive decision. Go further if one factory holds the spec, MOQ fits and risk on paper is not hidden.

Commercial talks after selection, sample coordination and production follow-up are not in this package. That is sourcing execution. If discovery is already done for the same family, you do not pay that work again.

On execution above 2,000 USD independent quality control is standard, but it is not ordered at selection. Here there is still no lot. Inspection comes when the sample is approved and goods are before loading.

Why offers must ask the same thing

Supplier selection breaks when each factory answers another question. The same RFQ goes to three factories, for one family and up to five models. Material, size, packing, MOQ, date and Incoterms are compared. EXW and FOB are not landed cost. The table also has a freight and duty outline, otherwise the lowest gate wins wrongly.

Desk check looks at licence, address, whether the account sounds like a factory and whether paper follows. A plant visit is not in this package. If the deposit is large, a visit is an add-on. Timeline is 10–15 working days, depending on factory replies. One question round. A second round is an add-on.

Stop if no offer enters the price. Go to execution only if one factory holds the spec, quantity fits and risk is not hidden. Talks after selection, sample and production follow-up are not here. A sample still takes 2–5 weeks when it starts. QC above 2,000 USD comes in execution, before shipment, not in this table.

Često postavljana pitanja

Comparable offers, MOQ, lead time, risk notes and a clear recommendation, not raw threads.

Desk check and RFQ are in the package. That is a check of papers, capacity, certificates and communication, not an on-site visit. A factory visit is a separate add-on.

After factory selection you move to sourcing execution or private label launch, depending on product type. For the same product family already done work is credited in the quote.

By the agreed package. Fees are on request, before confirmation.
