Cosmetics from China for a brand or distributor need an exact composition, lot stability and a label for the market. Guangzhou, often Baiyun, is the cluster where formula and filling are checked separately from the box. Papillon runs shortlist, sample, quality control (QC) and import. Market filings and regulation interpretation we do not do in place of the specialist you engage.
For a brand or distributor filling a warehouse with cream, serum, shampoo or colour cosmetics and selling on. The goal is a repeatable lot, a clear label and landed cost per piece that fits retail.
A factory’s ready formula under your name is private label launch. A new formula is closer to product development and needs more sample rounds. Do not mix those two in one purchase order.
Papillon sources, checks that the factory hands over the papers it claims to have, and imports. We do not sign compliance in your place. If the market needs a test, that test enters the calendar before the lot.
Baiyun and wider Guangzhou hold fillers and brands that offer a ready formula. Bottle, pump and carton often come from another factory, sometimes another city. Two suppliers without a shared date give cream without a box or a box without cream.
A platform account with pretty packing can still be a trader who does not hold the formula. A trader is not automatically a problem. The problem is an account that will not give composition, shelf life and a sample from the lot that will go into production. Papillon goes to the filler before a serious deposit.
The shortlist is two to three fillers in the same category: composition, MOQ, date, packing. The lowest price per tube without composition is not an offer.
A purchase order is not cream 50 ml, 5,000 pieces. Without a spec the filler sends the formula that is on the line that week.
The sample goes before the lot. Approval is written: look, scent, viscosity, a pump that does not leak, a label that fits the bottle. A message that it is fine is not a record. A sample that was filled by hand, while the lot goes on a line, is checked again on the first piece from the line.
If you change colour or scent, that is often a new MOQ, not the same cream in another shade. Box print has its own minimum. When it is higher than the formula, you either raise box quantity or stay on neutral packing. That is calculated before the deposit.
More on the box is on packaging from China. Design from scratch is not part of import. If name and mark are not ready, brand development goes first.
Formula, bottle and box rarely live in the same hall. If you do not bind them by date, the filler fills a bottle design has not approved, or the box arrives for a scent you already rejected. The purchase order states which date is master and what waits for what.
A local-language label is not we will add a PDF. It must fit the bottle, follow that lot’s composition and have a trail customs and your filing can compare. A label sample is approved with the cream sample, not a week before the vessel.
Scrap on the pump and scrap on the formula are not the same percent. Agree both before the deposit. A pump that leaks on five percent of cartons eats margin harder than a cream price gap. That is why inspection opens an agreed number of pieces, not one pallet photo.
Pre-loading inspection looks at volume, closure, leak, lot code and whether the label matches that lot’s composition. On sourcing execution above 2,000 USD independent quality control is standard. A lab test the market requires is not the same line as a carton check and remains an agreed extra.
Some formulas do not take heat in a container. That is said in the brief. Air is usual for a sample. Sea for a lot, about 35–52 days, goes when stability allows it. If it does not, the shipment month or mode changes, not we will see at customs.
HS must be correct. The Serbia China FTA from 1 July 2024 can lower duty with a certificate of origin, not automatically. Label language and lot trail enter prep before shipment. Landed cost includes formula, packing, scrap, freight, duty and VAT. Cheap cream in a costly pump can still eat margin.
Research takes 1–3 weeks, sample 2–5, make often 4–10 weeks before sea. Put in the brief category, target volume, quantity, whether the formula is ready or new, shelf date and who does the market filing.
No. We help with sourcing and with papers the factory claims to have. Filings and regulation interpretation you solve with a market specialist. The lot does not start until that part is in the calendar.
It depends on formula, colour and print. Private label often needs more than a ready catalogue, and the box has its own minimum. The number comes after spec.
Yes. We source bottles, pumps and boxes and align the date with your filling. That is another purchase order from importing a finished cream.
The lot does not go until the first piece from the line is compared with the approved sample. A similar scent is not approval. Lot inspection is done before loading.
Not automatically. The agreement holds from 1 July 2024, the rate depends on HS and a certificate of origin. The sheet uses two scenarios.
Shortlist 1–3 weeks, sample 2–5, make often 4–10 weeks, sea about 35–52 days when the formula takes a container. A stability test adds time before the lot.
