One category window, a short list of makers, then the plant that would have to hold the series.
Pick one phase
The fair is several shows. Your category gets one window. The others are someone else's trip.
Ask who scales
Trial quantity, scale quantity, lead time, and whether the sample on the table is from their line.
Visit the line
Shenzhen or Dongguan, the address they named. Capacity you cannot see does not go in the report as fact.
Price the series
Landed cost before deposit. A unit price at the booth is not the cost in your warehouse.
Who this fair is for
Brands and trading teams that already know the product and need a factory that can repeat it. You bring a materials note, a view on tooling, and the certificates the destination asks for.
If the order is a few hundred mixed pieces, Yiwu is the faster first step. If the order is a trial that must become thousands of the same model, this hall is closer.
Papillon uses it when the request says OEM or ODM in the first line, not as a synonym for any fair in Hong Kong.
One phase is the visit
April and October each break into category phases. Walking all of them is how a buyer stops asking questions and starts collecting bags. We book the phase that matches the product and leave.
October also holds Hong Kong Electronics Fair at HKCEC. Same city, different job. Pick the meeting fair before you pick the hotel.

Trial, then scale
A useful stand can talk about the trial build and the series without changing the story. Tooling cost, who owns the tool, lead time, and what happens when a part is short.
NDA before you put a design on the table. A prototype that appears from a catalogue SKU with your logo is not development. We say so in the hall, not after the deposit.
AsiaWorld-Expo is not the factory
The airport venue is efficient and it is still a hall. The line is in Shenzhen, Dongguan, or further into the delta. We do not end the trip at the expo if the request is a series.
QC stays on that line, before loading. Sample time is about 2–5 weeks when you do not already hold an approved piece. The ship is still about 35–52 days.
What the report decides
Who can scale. Who was a trader with a nice booth. What the landed cost looks like at the trial quantity and at the scale quantity. Whether the next step is a prototype, a sample order, or a stop.
The fair does not owe you a supplier. It owes you a shorter list than you walked in with.
